It does the job great easy instructions would be nice if plug follower was better quality overall great starter

I would have given the kit 5 stars but the 'follower' wouldn't fit over the back of the Schlage lock I recently purchased. I had an email exchange with Trina and sent a photo of what back of the lock cylinder looks like. I had to file open the slots in the follower to get it to work. When you have addressed this issue and designed a new follower I think I'm entitled to a new one. Here my advice, make a two ended follower that supports both the old and new Schlage cylinder designs, 'new' on one end and 'old' on the other.

This kit was just the thing for the project at hand. With five lock sets needing to match two existing locks. The instruction book included helped make the project go smoothly and in no time at all. CLK made this task so pleasurable I'm keeping and eye out for more locks to change.

I’m an amateur lock tinkerer (I am decent at picking simple locks, and enjoy playing with mechanical mechanisms in general), and this rekeying kit was just the ticket for rekeying the locks in our new house. In the process I learned how to use a key gauge and how to think in pin numbers. I sorted through the available keys until i found one with a few “lucky numbers” for my wife and me, and was off to rekey a bunch of locks (mostly simple Schlage knob locks, but also Baldwin and Schlage deadbolts). The first lock was a learning experience in making sure the key follower was really pushed snug to the back of the cylinder, but at least I got to learn how to put all the top pins back in early…

Actually the hardest part of this process was getting the e clips off the back of the locks. The included tools didn’t help me with this, but a pair of pliers made it easy to push these clips off. Anywya, it was fun overall, and I recommend this kit and the booklet for making it easy!

All the components of the rekeying kit were as expected. They worked as intended and appear to be of good quality. The accompanying guide was sufficient to get me through a rekeying session without any mishaps. The only deficiency is the fragility of the storage box, the latch of which was broken upon arrival. Rectifiable with a few rubber bands, so not a big deal.

Was able to quickly and easily rekey three locks withuout any experience. Thank you!

It was actually kind of fun. I had 12 locksets to rekey. The first was a challenge and the rest were a breeze. Small challenge but easy to be a victor.
