Key programming a 2018 Ford Focus starts with getting the right replacement. I have duplicated the working key to H94 and we're going to use the Autek IKey820 Key Programmer to program it.
Check the list of vehicles in the PDF that the Autek can cover and if it is listed, begin the programming by connecting the Autek IKey820 to the OBD 2 port.
When you have everything set up, go to ‘Key Program’ and select ‘Ford USA.’ Then ‘BY VEHICLE’ we will select the Focus, 2018 and press OK. Wait for the database to load then grade the H94, put it into the ignition. Turn it on, click OK. With this procedure, you can program the new key to the system without erasing the existing key. Please ensure you have at least one key to be added.
We're just gonna go to Add Key, click OK, and close this door. It says ‘INSERT NEW KEY AND TURN IGNITION ON’, click OK. A total of two keys will appear, click OK.
For each programming done, you should test out the keys and be sure to hear the locks cycle. Compare the function of your newly programmed keys with the original key to be sure that everything is still working. You can try to start your ignition and controls with the new programmed key to ensure it is working the same.
