Key Programming | 2017 Toyota Sienna with the SMART PRO!

Key programming a 2017 Toyota Sienna starts with getting the right replacement. We're gonna add a key, so I have a TOY44H Transponder Key cut. Now let's go program that additional key using the SmartPro.

To begin the programming, we have the Smart PRO, which is connected to the OBD2 port, and we also have the 'MYKEYS Pro' for all the information we need about this vehicle.

MYKEYS Pro app

Now, that you have everything set up, the first step is to go to 'Vehicle Selection' as you can see below, and select 'Toyota.' Then we will select the Sienna, 2015 to 2019 blade since it is 2017 with normal key blade. The MYKEYS Pro app can give you all the tips, tricks, and information you need to navigate the selection process.

Smart Pro by Advanced Diagnostics

When you have completed the selection, we're off to Program Immobiliser. Put the key into the ignition and turn it on to the opposition. The Smart Pro device should display a connection message like the one below. Click on Connect, Switch the Ignition on and click OK.

Program the Immobilizer with the Smart Pro programmer

Proceed to ‘Program Keys USA’ and hit the play button on the bottom left. Few steps will appear so just follow. It says ‘This function is used to add keys only at least one currently working master key is required and if lost all keys then do all lost keys procedure’ so if you have the master key just click OK. Remove the current key and insert the working master key and turn the ignition on. 120 seconds will be given and if done early, click OK. Wait for a moment. Switch the ignition off, remove the key, and press okay. Now put the key you want to program (GMA TOY44), turn it on, and click OK. ‘Security indicators should not be flashing’ will appear, wait for a few moments. When it says ‘the security indicator should now be off’ and it is, click OK. The procedure is complete.

Smart Pro - Program Keys

For each programming done, you should test out the keys and be sure to hear the locks cycle. Compare the function of your newly programmed keys with the original key to be sure that everything is still working. You can try to start your ignition and controls with the new programmed key to ensure it is working the same.

We're done! That is how you add a key to a 2017 Toyota Sienna. We really like how the Smart PRO Key Programmer guides you through each step to make sure you have the right key at the right time. If you have any comments or questions about this procedure, let us know in the comments below!
