How it Works- Storeroom Function on Grade 1 and 2 Levers and Knobs

Going over the Storeroom Function primarily found on Grade 1 and Grade 2 knobs and clutched storeroom lever. Clutched means that the latch will not move even if the lever is down unless you turn the key to unlock it.

On the storeroom locks, the outside of the door is always locked and will be locked from the outside; it will require a key to open every time. It doesn't matter which way you turn the key. It will do the same thing, to unlock.

If you take the key out and push the lever down, the latch won't move.

While on the inside, it's always going to be unlocked. You can see that inside of the storeroom lock has no push-button, turn knob, or keyway.

These are perfect for a whole closet at a commercial facility or a storeroom. You always want to make sure that when the door closes, the door is locked, and it requires a key to open, and that's what the Storeroom Function is. Thanks, and we'll see you next time.
