To use a plug follower, first insert the key and turn the plug slightly to the unlocked position. Then, while maintaining the plug’s position, push the plug follower into the cylinder as you slowly withdraw the plug, ensuring the top pins and springs stay in place inside the cylinder housing. This helps prevent the pins from falling out during lock disassembly.
